Bleach tanning agents for vegetable tanned leather |
Jktan FCBJ 3 is a synthetic
tanning agent for bleaching vegetable tanned or retanned
leather to a pale colour. It is particularly suitable
for the bleaching of EI tanned leather.

FCBJ 4 is a synthetic tanning agent for bleaching
vegetable tanned or retanned leather to a pale colour
with a yellowish tinge. It is particularly suitable for
bleaching Sole, Sandal and vegetable-tanned industrial
leathers. |

Jktan
FCBJ 3 produces a neutral pale leather colour while FCBJ
4 gives a pronounced yellowish tinge. They bleach the
colour of the leather very evenly and do not impair
resistance to cracking of the grain when they are
applied in the proper way. |

Jktan
FCBJ types are bleach tanning agents in powder form.
They are readily soluble in water. They are also
soluble in vegetable tan liquors to a greater or lesser
extent, depending on the concentration of the later.
Jktan
FCBJ 3 produces a neutral pale leather colour, while
FCBJ 4 gives a pronounced yellowish tinge. They bleach
the colour of the leather very evenly and do not impair
resistance to cracking of the grain when they are
applied in the proper way.
Jktan FCBJ types are stable to iron and do not gives to
discolouration. Iron stains formed on vegetable tanned
or retanned leather can be removed with FCBJ types. |

Jktan
FCBJ types can be used as bleach tanning agents for all
types of vegetable tanned or retanned leather. However,
Jktan FCBJ3 is mostly preferred for bleaching EI leather
while FCBJ4 is preferred for bleaching heavy leathers
like Factory Sole leather, industrial leathers etc.
Depending on the conditions given bleaching can be
effected in the drum or by dipping process or on the
table. |
Drum Bleaching |

Light
and medium weight leathers are drummed with 3-5% of
Jktan FCBJ type and 100-150% of float at30oC until the
desired bleach effect is attained followed by rinsing
for five minutes in running water.
Factory sole leathers, which are to be retanned with
extracts filling agents, are drummed until the extracts
has been taken up completely penetration being promoted
by introducing hot air. |
DIP Bleaching |

This
is carried out in plastic tubs containing solutions of
70-100g. of the Jktan FCBJ type per litre of water. The
bleaching solution may be heated to 35-40oC. The
leathers to be bleached are immersed for a short period
in the solution, given a short rinse, if required. The
bleaching solution can be used several times and can
finally be added to other tan liquors. |
Bleaching on Tables |

Solutions containing 50 gm of Jktan FCBJ type per litre
of water at 35oC are used for bleaching on tables. |
Safety |

We
know of no ill effects that could have resulted from
using the Jktan FCBJ types for the purpose for which
they are intended and from processing them in accordance
with current practice. |
Storage Stability |

Although storage life is unlimited, particular care
should be taken to ensure that the product is stored
dry, and bags are tightly closed. |
